Summer wedding season is fast approaching and here at SpinTBD I am starting to get excited.
OK, its true, if you are just finding my website/blog today to book your summer 2011 wedding, I have limited availability, but please do email: jeremy@spintheblackdisc.com… if I can’t do, I know wedding DJs that can.
As I start to think about playlists and music ideas for a unique and fun style, I heard a song during film Forgetting Sarah Marshall that was both hilarious, familiar and sweet. “Nothing Compares 2 U.” This version is done by Don Ho under the pseudo name “The Coconutz.” The song is recognizable but done in the native Hawaiian language.
Its a song that is quirky but for the right wedding, or destination wedding, would be a pretty bold statement. It would get your guests scratching their head going, “wait a minute!?!”
Man, do I ever wish I had this jam when I DJ’d the Lake Wedding last summer.
There is a world of fun, quirky, romantic music out there and when planning your playlist maybe think about including something from a favourite movie, time or vacation that you and your future husband/wife shared.
Go with yourself.
